Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain Dry etch processes in R&D and Small volume manufacturing environment
- Responsible for performing professional process engineering research, from the concept to the final process development for a wide variety of materials (Metals, Silicon, Dielectrics, SiC and other speciality materials)
- May conceive and plan projects involving the definition and selection of new materials, concepts and approaches in the processing or developing of new processes.
- Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications.
- Championing engineering experiments for process characterization to drive quality and yield improvement
- Set up and collect the experimental data and generate reports for internal and customer distribution.
- Design and complete DOE (Design of Experiments) evaluations to characterize process window for new requirements
- Work closely with senior staff and process integrators to understand technology roadmaps, process capability requirements and business issues/ challenges.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; lead small projects with manageable risks
- Act as subject matter expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics; or relevant field science and engineering fields.
- PhD graduates with plasma or semiconductor process exposure are added advantages.
- Prior experience in dry etch/Wet etch processes is preferred
- Knowledge of plasma fundamentals is an added advantageHands-on experience in designing and executing experiments (DOE), statistical and cause analysis, and problem-solving methods
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills

The Senior Scientist is a pivotal role within the Digital Chemistry Division,specifically tasked with leading the "4. PROBE" stage ofthe AiXL 5P Cycle (Plan, Prepare, Perform, Probe, Predict). The primary objective of this role is to bridge the gap between high-through put analytical hardware and AI-readiness. As AiXL scales its operational capacity with integrated systems like the Agilent Rapid Fire-QT of, the successful candidate will ensure that thousands of reaction outputs are converted into standardized, high-fidelity data. By managing the flow between ultrafast triage and high-resolution validation, this role enables the closed-loop system required for machine learning retraining and the rapid optimization of sustainable chemicals and materials.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities
Data Standardization & Loop Closure
- Develop and deploy end-to-end automated workflows to parse and process raw data from high-through put instruments (LC-MS, GC, plate readers).
- Convert raw analytical outputs into ISCE2 Reaction Database (IRD) compliant schemas to facilitate "5. PREDICT" models.
- Utilize Python scripting to automate routine data processing (baseline correction, peak integration, normalization) to eliminate manual errors.
Workflow & Instrument Management
- Manage dual-mode workflows, optimizing the transition between RapidFire triage and UHPLC-MS validation to maximize instrument ROI.
- Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and oversee material characterization for Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry domains.
- Handle equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance for UHPLC-MS, QTof, GC, and GCMS systems.
Technical Support & Synergy
- Familiar with Design of Experiments (DoE) and Bayesian Optimization.
- Act as a technical bridge between research and support divisions, particularly complementing the ACI Division with specialized digital-analytical workflows.
- Conduct laboratory personnel training and certify authorized users on analytical instrumentation.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, including chemical storage and waste disposal.
- Manage procurement operations for laboratory supplies, equipment consumables, and services.
- Participate in R&D project meetings to provide technical insights and progress updates.
Job Requirements
Educational & Professional Experience
- Background: PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Digital Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Expertise: Demonstrated competency in managing and maintaining high-end analytical instruments (UHPLC-MS, QTof, GC-MS).

Technical Skills
